Raymond Helton Friley, Sr. died July 23, 2019 at his residence.He was 77 years old.Born in Montgomery, AL,he was the son of the late Joe and Jean Friley and the late Mack and Dersie McCandless.
He was with the 412th Engineer Command for 29 years and an employee of the City of Vicksburg Water Dept for 22 years.He was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one son,Dale Ray Friley; two sister's Patsy Hayes and Edith Bender; and one brother,Joe Friley Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lillian Simpson Friley,;one daughter,Wendy Lynn Staggs of Vicksburg; and two sons,Raymond Friley , Jr . and BJ Friley of Vicksburg, MS;five grandchildren: Je Hyun Jung of South Korea,James Robert Friley of Overland Park, Kansas, Jena Marie Moulder , Varissa Brownell and Stephanie Sanchez all of Vicksburg; ten great grandchildren; one sister Linda Bates of Mesquite, TX;and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 10 AM at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Clemts officiating. Visitation will be 5 PM to 7 PM Friday, July 26. 2019 at Riles Funeral Home and Saturday from 9AM until the hour of the service at Southside Baptist Church.Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Woods, Drew Clemts,Kenny Staggs, Sr., General Bill Hobgood, General David Weeks and General Jimmy Fowler.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Harry Cockrell, Johnny Hartley, Larry Carpenter,Robert Young and Dale Young, Men of Southside and Soldiers of 412th.
