Robert H. Selby, Jr.'s Obituary
There will be a Memorial Service for Robert H Selby Jr. at 11:00 on October 21st at the Crawford St United Methodist Church in Vicksburg. Robert died in November 2020 at the North Florida Regional Hospital from complications from Covid-19.
In lieu of flowers you may donate to Rob's favorite charity, the Salvation Army at
SalvationArmy.org. For many years he maintained and drove their bus as a volunteer in Northern California as well as helped with numerous projects.
Rob had an amazing gift working with electronics and anything mechanical. In his youth in Longview, Texas he enjoyed ham radio, working on classic cars, fishing and volunteering at the Christian radio station KLUE at LeTourneau College where his father, Dr. Robert H Selby was a Teacher and Dean of students.
After a few years in the Air Force, Rob worked for the Army Corp of Engineers in Vicksburg, Mississippi and in Northern California. His supervisor said that he could fix what no one else could fix. For those who know him, you would be surprised that he climbed tall radio towers to repair them.
He later worked for the Adam's Mark Hotel and Resort in Florida and the Hospital in Daytona, Florida.
Rob is preceded in death by his wife Pam, father Dr Robert H Selby and step father Rev David P McBride.
