Robert (Bobby) William Thornell, Sr. passed away on April 22, 2022. He was 66. A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Bobby was a retired auto mechanics instructor at Hinds Community College Vicksburg branch.  He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Sr. and Lillie Mae Thornell; sister Lillian Chaney; and brother Clifton Jr. (Carolyn).

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Amelia; sons, Billy (Mandy) and Travis (Valera); granddaughters Raegan and Maude; sisters Nancy (J.R.) Brown, Rosemary (Jimmy) Terry, and Carole (Chuck) Walker; brother Dickie (Annette) Thornell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be offered at Fisher Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue, on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Vicksburg City (Cedar Hill) Cemetery on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 10 a.m. Honorary pallbearers are his nephews.
