Roy Edward Campbell, Jr. died Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Merit Health, Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.He was 75.Mr. Campbell was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg and the son of the late Roy Edward Campbell, Sr. and Aline Parker Campbell.He was a graduate of H.V. Cooper High School and retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad after 43 years of service.He was a member of the W.G. Paxton Masonic Lodge 559 and a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Vicksburg Lodge 95.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by an aunt, Shirley Wilkinson.He is survived by his wife, Sue Campbell; his daughter, Christy McCoy (Michael), his granddaughter, Campbell McCoy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1 PM Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Riles Funeral Home.Visitation will be from 11 AM until the hour of service.Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Michael McCoy, Harry Ligget, John Dolan, J.R. Williams, Eddie Finch, Willis Finch, Geoff Nelson, and George Tompkins.Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Cappaert, Jimmy Fairchilds, Pete Christopher, Benny Hicks, Al Bettencourt, John Brent, Jim Corulla, and Ray Franco.
