Ruby Lynn Mordecai died Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Merit Health-River Region Medical Center.  She was 85.  Born in Tallahatchie County, she had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1969.  She was the daughter of the late Jim and Iris Rodgers. She worked at Warren Central High School as a librarian and retired from Waterways Experiment Station.  She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Stewart Mordecai and a son, Gregory Lynn Mordecai.

She is survived by three sons, William Howard Mordecai (Sharron), Donald Glenn Mordecai, and Arthur Lee Mordecai (LeeAnn); a daughter, Linda Carol Mordecai; and two grandsons, Michael Parham Mordecai and Matthew Peyton Mordecai.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
