Rufus Ray Wade, a life long resident of Vicksburg, passed away peacefully in his home October 29, 2021 at the age of 73. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying the quiet he found while hunting and fly fishing. He was a member of the first class of graduates at Warren Central High School in 1966. He retired from AT&T, formerly known as Bellsouth and South Central Bell, after 43 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his father Rufus A. Wade, mother Jeannette Wade Robinson and Stepfather Jean Robinson. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Dotty Wade, a son Ben Wade (Tracey) of Vicksburg, daughters Kristy Cole (Jim) of Clinton and Carrie Head (Robert) of Clinton. He leaves behind six grandchildren Madison Wade, Mayson Wade, Meredith Cole, James Austin Cole, John Ryan Head and Laura Reagan Logue. He is also survived by his 4 siblings Wanda Morra (Chuck) of Biloxi, MS, Don Wade (Susan) of Carrollton, MS,  Karen Tillotson (Kevin) of Saltillo, MS, and Paul Wade of Charlotte, NC.

Arrangements: Visitation will be held  Thursday, November 4 ^th from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM  at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue,  with a celebration of life service immediately following at 1:00 PM. Graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.  Brian Parker will officiate the service with special music provided by Mark Holdiness and Mark McCann.

Pallbearers are John McBroom, Cody McBroom, Ike Barnes, Mike Patterson, Ricky Pennington and Greg Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Neal Roberts, Don McBroom, Robert Sibley, Mickey Simmons, Dane Lovel and Virgil Carter. A special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their love and kindness.
