Sadie M. Land Parker went to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the home of her niece in Bolton, MS at the age of 95.  Mrs. Parker  had been a resident of Vicksburg for all of her adult life.  She, along with her late husband, Louie Land owned and operated Box L Ranch for many years, where they mentored countless children.  She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church in Flora and attended Lighthouse Baptist Church in Vicksburg for many years.  She also worked at Magnolia Estates and Morgan's Grocery, where she met her second husband, the late Bill Parker.

In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Parker is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Marie Peden; two brothers, Dewey Peden and Billy Peden; a sister, Opal Echols; and three nephews:  David Peden, Jimmy Peden, and Walter Peden.

She is survived by five nieces:  Anita Shuler, Elaine Kirk, Theresa Irwin, Lorraine Price, and Jeanette Saik;  two nephews, Dr. Bobby Peden and James Peden;  and  her grandaughter, Madelyn McAdams, and many other s whom she helped mentor and cared for.

Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, March 28, 2022 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue in Vicksburg.  Visitation will be from 10 AM until the hour of service. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Martin Pace, Hunter McDougal, Tucker Gurley, Samual Halford, Cris Ables, and Jesse McAdam.  Honorary pallbearer will be Sammy Stokes.
