Sharon Ann Veazey Cotton left this World June 20, 2023 while in the hospital to join her Heavenly Father after a lifelong battle with sickness. She was 60 years old. Daughter of Jimmy Veazey and the late Martha Ann Burrough Veazey. She was a graduate of the Warren Central High School Class of 1981 then she went to Hinds Jr College. She later joined the United States Navy for approximately 7 years where she was one of the first female diesel mechanics and Seabees.  After her time in the Navy, she returned to Vicksburg,MS. She then worked as a Personal Assistant at The Vicksburg Chemical Company. During high school, Sharon was a proud member of The Big Blue Marching Band where she played the trumpet. She was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America. She was also President of the Vicksburg Chapter of Business and Professional Women. She had several hobbies which included watching Days of our Lives, reading countless books, spending time with her precious dachshunds, making homemade soaps, jewelry, cooking, and baking.  She loved all animals and was a devoted yorkie and dachshund mom. She was a member of Baptist faith and worshipped at Highland Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday School. She leaves behind her Father Jimmy Veazey, her sister Tonnie Veazey Langston, Brother in Law James Langston, Nephew James Eric Langston,  two Nieces Jaycee McNeese Langston and Alyssa LeeAnn Langston. She was preceded in death by her Mother Martha Ann Burrough Veazey. Services will be at Riles Funeral Home, Visitation is Friday June 23, 2023 from 1 - 3pmwith a service to follow. A celebration of her life will follow at Calvary Baptist Church with food for anyone who wishes to join the family afterwards.
