Sharon Gail Hanks, 74, died October 26 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death
by her parents, William and Nora Bliss Collins, her brother Bill Collins, her daughter Rhonda
Brasseal. She is survived by her husband Richard L. Hanks, daughter Karen Biedenharn, son
Richard T. Hanks, as well as grandchildren Anna Brasseal, Richard "Lee" Hanks, Herman "Indy"
Biedenharn, Olivia Biedenharn, numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She retired from Vicksburg Police Department where she worked as a cross-guard. She also
volunteered countless hours at Vicksburg Catholic Schools where her children attended. She
served as a girl Scout Troop leader and as a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies
Auxiliary.
Sharon's life was centered around her family and close friends. She never missed an event or
opportunity to volunteer her time in support of her children and grandchildren. Her love and
support was unconditional and irreplaceable. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000  Indiana Avenue,  from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by
graveside service at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Friday, October 30.
