Sondra R. "Sonny Girl" Guyton Hickman peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at home at the age of 85, surrounded by family and friends. Sonny Girl was born on December 19, 1939, to the late Daniel W. Guyton and Emmie J. Hopkins Guyton. She was a 1958 graduate of Culkin Academy in Vicksburg, MS. She worked in Human Resources at TG&Y and Walmart for many years until retiring in 2001. She enjoyed having family around, sewing, being outside, taking care of her flowers, fishing, traveling and camping. She was a member of Red Carpet Sam's Camping Group. She was an active member of Bovina Baptist Church where she was a member of the ladies Sunday School Class and on the Connect55 Committee catering to activities for anyone age 55 and older until she had a stroke in 2020. She loved her family, friends and church family wholeheartedly!

Sonny Girl was predeceased by her loving husband of 66 years, Oscar B. "Sonny Boy" Hickman, her parents, two brothers and nine sisters.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Oldenburg (Wayne), Anthony "Tony" Hickman (Margie), Monty Hickman (Michel Townsend) and Kimberly "Kim" Crothers (Doug), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, her brother, David Guyton and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph Hospice for its wonderful care  of Mom for the last couple of years.  We would like to say a special thank you to caregivers Katrina Johnson, Pam Mounger, and Lena Wilson

Services will be Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Bovina Baptist Church, 5293 Highway 80, in Vicksburg with Rev. Brian Parker officiating.  Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 11:00 A.M. Pallbearers will be Lee Bruce, James Henry, Ray Melancon, Johnny Oldenburg, James "Binky" Purvis, Keith Stennett. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of
Fisher Riles Funeral Home.
