Thomas William Cockrell, Jr. died Saturday, September 29, 2018.He was 77.Mr. Cockrell was born February 5, 1941 to the late Thomas W. Cockrell, Sr. and Mary Ellen Cockrell and was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg.In addition to his parents, he was preceded In death by five sisters:Lucy Russell, Kathleen Thigpen, Mary Stanford, Dorothy Landrum, and Daisy Cockrell; a brother, Joe Cockrell; and his lifetime friend and companion, Nell.
Mr. Cockrell is survived by a brother, Glen Cockrell and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Cedar Hill Cemetery.Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until the hour of service at Riles Funeral Home.Pallbearers will be Carl Landrum, Wendell Landrum, Jeffery Chambers, Kenny Steadman, Darrell Landrum, Charlie Nevels, and Nathan Storey.
