Obituary

Wayne Chandler Bonelli died on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.  He was born on July 18, 1943 to Dorothy Robertson Bonelli and Vincent Bonelli, Jr. in Vicksburg, MS.  After graduating from Culkin Academy, Chandler enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed in Japan and California during his years of service.  Chandler had a long career as a Cross Country Truck Driver and retired after working for Billy Sheffield hauling waste disposal containers to the New Orleans area after Hurricane Katrina.  He also gave tours of  downtown Vicksburg in the horse-drawn carriages. He was a proud member of the Gold Wing Motor Cycle Club, Army Navy Club and the American Legion. Chandler  was also a dedicated volunteer at the Southern Heritage Air Foundation.

He is predeceased by his parents.  

Survivors include his sisters, Emily Bonelli, Carol Bonelli, Claire Bonelli Jackson and her husband, David Jackson; his nephew, Robert Jackson and his wife, Kate Jackson; and a great niece and nephew, Lesleigh and Walker Jackson.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 13 at 10 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Godfrey officiating.
