Wayne David Latner was born in Coaling, Alabama on July 24, 1932 to Rev. Nicholas Edgar Latner and Mary Stella Connor Latner. He was raised in Alabama and moved to Vicksburg in 1955 and fell in love with Vicksburg. Wayne worked in retail at JC Penney's where he met and married his wife JoElla. Wayne work many different fields such as Insurance and Jewelry business. The job he loved the most was announcer at WBBV 101. Wayne won many awards for his programs. Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, JoElla Latner. A niece Lisa (Martin) Harvey of Collins, MS. Two great nieces Hannah Beth Harvey, Mary Catherine Harvey and many more nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Rev. Nicholas Edgart and Mary Stella Latner. Two bothers Charles E. Latner and Bart C. Latner. Two sisters Ruthvene Synder and Linda Gayle Latner Hannah. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday December 1, 2020 at 2:00pm at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Bart C. Latner Jr. Will be officiating the service, under the direction of Fisher-Riles Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Trinity Baptist Church Wlt. Stevens Lodge 121, Martin Harvey and Lucious Dabney. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to your favorite charity, in honor of Wayne David Latner.
