William Brett Holloway was born April 28, 1975, he was 45 years old. He was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. He was married to Kristi McBroom Holloway. He is a 1994 graduate of Vicksburg High School. He served 21 years in the US Army National Guard. He retired from service as a Staff Sargeant. Most recently, he was a construction contract representative with the USACE, Mat Sinking Unit. He enjoyed playing softball, frisbee, and cornhole, coaching his kids soccer and softball teams, grilling out or boiling crawfish and being with family and friends.
Brett passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Merit Health River Region. A wife lost the love of her life, children lost their father, siblings lost their baby brother, and nieces, nephews, other family and friends lost an amazing man. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Kimble Holloway, Sr.; grandparents EK and Josie Holloway, Rufus and Laverne Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Kristi; children, Hawkins Holloway, Sarah Elizabeth Holloway, Austin Smith (Kassy), Justin Smith, and Kennedy Smith; sister Tammy Johnston (Jim), brother Joe Holloway (Teresa); his mother, Geraldine Holloway; nieces, Danielle Holloway, Brooklyn Grantham, and Kirsten Tate; nephews, Michael Orman, Drew Grantham (Tabitha), Spencer Johnston (Jennifer), Ethan Johnston, Karson Lynn, Kamdon Lynn, and Jaxon Grantham; lifelong best friends Carr Murphy Brown and Josh Etheridge.
Service will be 11am Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue in Vicksburg with Bro. Jim Johnston officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-7pm Tuesday, January 19, 2021. No graveside services. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Etheridge, Austin Etheridge, Hayden Butler, Thad Wade, Tae Jackson, Howard Crowe, and Doug Parkman.
