He served as a deacon at Highpointe Baptist Church, where he was a long time member. Bill loved his family, friends, and country, but above all, he loved Jesus.

He is preceeded in death by his late wife, Ruby Roland; mother, Marie Rather; and sister, Vivian Hayes.

Survivors left to cherish his memory are his wife of twenty three years, Cathy Roland; two sons, Shannon Roland and Steven Roland; one daughter, Kayla Hutchins and her husband Josh Hutchins; two grandsons, Steve Austin Roland and Zac Hutchins; four granddaughters, Logan Roland, Kenzlie Pierce, Hallee Hutchins, and Tori Hutchins. Bill was so excited about expecting his 7th grandchild this fall.

Services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, July 2, 2021 at High Pointe Baptist Church, 2453 Palestine Road in Raymond, MS. Interment will follow in McClellan Cemetery near Utica, MS. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 7 PM on Thursday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home, 5000 Indiana Avenue in Vicksburg, MS.
