Winifred "Fred" Powell passed away on Nov 26, 2023 at the age of 83 in his home in Warner Robins, GA.

Fred was a resident of Vicksburg, MS from 1983-2004 then resided in Port Gibson, MS from 2004-2017.

Mr. Powell was born in Eminence, MO and graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri.  He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1965.  He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for many years with his final post being with the Mississippi River Commission.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 0003, Moose Lodge 1581 and Elks Lodge 0095 for many years.

He was proceeded in death by his daughter, Susan Powell, and his parents Wayland L Powell and Alta L Powell.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Stephanie; his two daughters Sharon Vorisek and Linda Powell; three brothers: Elmer Powell, Walter Powell, and Keith Powell plus grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Monday Dec 4, 2023 at 2 pm at Fisher - Riles Funeral Home at 5000 Indiana Avenue in Vicksburg.  Visitation will be from 1 pm until th hour of service.  Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
