Cleo Townsend Donovan died Sunday, November 23, 2014 in Winnsboro, LA. She was 82. Cleo was born July 19, 1932, in Winnsboro, Louisiana along with her twin brother Leo. She was a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital and ended her career as an Occupational Health Nurse at Vicksburg Chemical Plant. A few years ago she left Vicksburg and moved to Winnsboro to be with her family. She was known for her creativity and she always shared her projects with people she cared about.She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Donovan, Jr.; her father, Johnnie Townsend, her mother, Isabelle Calhoun Townsend, two sisters, Myrtis Boutwell, and Claudine McDaniel and a brother, J. W. Townsend. Survivors include her brother, Leo Townsend (Janis) of West Monroe, LA; a sister, Carolyn Powers (Sam) of Winnsboro, LA; a special nephew, Sonny Boutwell of Winnsboro, LA.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visistation was held at 10 a.m. at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Graveside services were held at Cedar Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, with the Reverend Jerry Johnson and the Reverend Whit Bass officiating. A special thank you to her caretakers, Penny Lemoine, Becky Fortenberry and Polly Peppers who were like family. Also, a special thank you to TLC Hospice.
